DC ARB Online Surveys

The purpose of this site is to provide an interactive on line version of the tree surveys undertaken by DC ARB. The survey data on this site is to replicate, and accompany reports provided to clients either as a hard-copy or in PDF format. Its conception is to be a useful resource for both clients and arboricultural contractors.

As a tree surveyor I have always strived to make my survey maps as clear and concise as possible, from the early days of taking my hand drawn maps and transposing them into a digital map using Photoshop and satellite imaging, and in recent years utilising GIS software and various apps. This site is the next step for providing survey data and mapping to the end user where priority software is not a requirement.... just a device with an internet connection and a modern browser is all that is needed.

Currently the basic workings of this site are complete and robust enough to be useful (lots of refinements and functionality are in the pipeline). The survey maps allow clients and contractors to visualise and/or navigate the survey area far better than using a paper map, or a flat PDF map on an electronic device. Trees and groups are plotted on a real on line map with various map tile layer to choose from (satellite etc), the map also includes a GPS positioning function to use when on site.
